Epic’s own library update finally adds a List view for your game collection - boydafterand
I'm currently obsessing over the Steamer Library Update, meticulously reorganizing my program library in a hundred different ways. But while I was differently in use, the Epic Games Store at length released an interface update likewise. It's way less intricate than Valve's, but given the Epic Games Store's only expose option prepared to now was "An interminable catalogue of oversize tiles," the bar was pretty much on the establish.
As such, Big's big development of the week is the summation of a condensed list view. Ultimately! There are a a few unaccustomed sorting options to caper with as well. You commode now display your program library in either "Alphabetical" Beaver State "Recent" order, and also condense the list by only exhibit presently installed games—along with their install sizes in some cases, though I'm still astonied Epic doesn't show those numbers for all biz, nor are they displayed before installation.
But with my Epic Games Store program library fast closing in on a hundred titles (those free games tot), the changeover still arrives in the nick of time. List way is easier to parse, easier to scroll through, and uh…well, believably should've been included at launch.
It's hardly alone in that regard. The Epic Games Put in only if recently added cloud saves, and is still missing achievements, a playtime tracker, and a bunch of opposite features that look key for any practicable Steam clean competitor. I've been pretty affirmative about the Epic Games Store, just I'm hush up surprised how long some of these foundational features are pickings.
That said, work evidently continues and hopefully by the end of the year we'll see additional progress. After completely, we haven't even hit the one-year anniversary of the store's announcement. Given the number of exclusives on the Epic Games Store (and the furore that's resulted) it sometimes feels like it's been around eternally, just information technology's still relatively embryonic days.
And hey, there's probably an statement to beryllium made that Epic's pushed Valve to spick-and-span heights this year. The aforementioned Library Update, Steam Labs—it's been a big twelvemonth for Valve, later years of stagnation. Maybe the competition's not whol no-good, eh?
