How To Install Afterglow Headset On Pc

My afterglow wireless headset no longer plays the sound since my upgrade to windows 10. In windows 8 there used to be two settings in the playback menu, one was the afterglow headset and the other was just a generic headset option. The generic option is no longer in my menu and that was the one that made my headset work the option named after the headset is there, but like in 8 it doesn't work. The mic still works and my pc has recognized the headset it shows in devices and the drivers are all installed and up to date. I have tried reinstalling them as well. I can get sound through all my other sets of speakers just not this headset. Please help.
Edit: I have tried using the sound troubleshooting option too, but it doesn't find anything.

Uninstall windows 8 headset driver from device mgr-sound, video and games (incl software). Then with your headset plugged in, right click on same folder and choose "scan for hardware changes" See if that brings up generic/microsoft headset driver

I tried that, but their was no windows 8 driver in the category I uninstalled all the drivers in the category and reinstalled them. That generic option is still missing.

Did you uninstall them from device mgr (check software too) and then do "scan for hardware changes"

You should note what driver/its date you have installed now and what driver appears after you scan.

Where you buy AfterGlow headset? Don't you have instructions on how to set it up?

What is default audio driver? Realtek?

I found a solution that is working. I told the generic speaker option to go through the headphone port and I can now get sound through all my various sources of sound. Jmarco I want to thank you for all the help it was your advice that lead me to try changing which port the generic speakers were looking for. I think sideways sometimes random things get me thinking :P

hello,

i have the same issue, but dont get the workaround done yet. anyone here that can help me on that?

specs are:

windows 10 home, fully updated

gigabyte mobo with onboard realtek hd audio soundcard

pdp afterglow 5.1 bluetooth headset with afterglow surround sound wireless transmitter

thanks in forward, i really need help on this. im out of ideas already.
